Home Meets
Three times a year, the New Berlin Swim Club hosts a United States Swimming sanctioned swim meet. This is a chance for our parents to get hands on experience with the operations of a swim meet. No experience necessary! We will provide free training! It also is a great opportunity for our swimmers to meet and get to know each other. In practices they see 20-30 other team members, while in one of our hosted meets they will see over 100 NBSC swimmers!
Hosting swim meets is also an important revenue source for our club. Parent participation is required. There will be a sign-up list for the various duties that are involved with the operation of our swim meet. A flyer will also be distributed from the Meet Director regarding details about the meet. Here are some of the Volunteer roles required to run a meet.
- Head timer
- Lane timers
- Awards
- Admissions
- Announcing
- Kitchen staff
- Runners
- Facilities setup
- Concession coordinators
- Meet marshalls
- Heat controllers
- Hytech computer operators
- Colorado Timing System operators
- Meet setup / takedown staff
- Heat sheet advertising layout staff
Many hands make for light workloads. Your help is greatly appreciated. We have a reputation for running great swim meets; only with your assistance can we continue this standard. Look for details at the pool, in your mailbox, or on the NBSC Meet Schedule page.
