All About Scrip

Try using Scrip. It is an easy way to pay for those meet fees! Scrips are basically gift certificates or debit cards you purchase from NBSC. We purchase them at a discount, you keep the profit as a credit on your swimmer's account.

For instance, you purchase $50 of JC Penny Scrip. We buy it at 5% discount. You get the full $50 of gift certificates AND we credit $2.50 on your swimmer's account.

This program is run by volunteers. Most participants purchase grocery store, gas and food Scrip. Scrip Forms are always in the Scrip folder of the club mailboxes.

Other good ideas to help increase your profits:

  • Pay off some store credit cards with Scrip (eg. Kohls, JCPenney).
  • Ask Scrip Coordinators for details.
  • Ask grandparents if they'd like to buy Scrip from you.
  • Ask your coworkers or bosses if they'd like to buy Scrip from you to use as gifts or incentives.
  • Buy Scrip for upcoming birthdays and anniversaries.
  • Buy ahead for those holidays: Thanksgiving! Christmas!
  • Buy hotel room Scrip for those away meets or your vacation.

Remember, participation is easy! Just fill out a form, attach your check made out to NBSC and put in the RED Scrip folder by the due date (typically every other Thursday). The pickup/distribution date is typically one week after the order due date. Check the club calendar for Scrip order due dates.
