Coach Pete, as everyone calls him, has been coaching for NBSC since 1998. Prior to NBSC Pete coached for South Milwaukee Aquatic Club (SMAC) and was an assistant at Stevens Point. Pete is a USS Swimming Certified Coach. He keeps current on swimming knowledge by attending numerous swim clinics, reading books and studying swim videos. Pete started swimming at the age of 8! He swam for North Shore Swim Club (NSSC). As a club swimmer he was a AAA swimmer and took 3rd in the 200 Butterfly for 13-14 year olds and seniors. Pete went to South MIlwaukee High School where he was a state qualifier. At the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, Pete was an All American swimming the 400 IM. Pete has coached kids of all ages and abilities. One of Pete's swimmers holds the record in the Big Ten Conference in the 50 Free and another he has coached all the way to the Olympic trials. Outside of the pool Pete is a Physical Education Teacher. Pete enjoys working with the kids and encourages a positive attitude. He likes swimming for its life long benefits!
- Nicole Tew
Coach Nickie started coaching for NBSC in the summer of 1992. Before that, she coached many summer camps at Northern Michigan University, was the girls coach for Whitnall High School, and also coached for SWAT for the fall/winter season, before coming to her true home at NBSC. New Berlin is where her swimming career all began. At the age of 5 Nickie had completed all the levels for the Parks and Rec program, so she started swimming for NBSC until the age of 9. She then swam for the Elmbrook Swim Club. At both clubs she held multiple club records and competed at State, Zone and Junior Nationals. She swam for Eisenhower High School and held multiple school and conference records and took 2nd at State in the 100 Butterfly. Ike's 100 Butterfly record still holds today!. Nickie swam for Northern Michigan University and was an All American in multiple events for all four years and held multiple school records. She still holds the school record in the 100 Butterfly! Nickie is a USS Swimming Certified Coach. She has coached all groups at NBSC but currently is the Assistant Head Coach for Seniors. Her 12 & Unders took 2nd at Summer State in 2009 with only 7 swimmers. She has coached kids to multiple state and zone championships. Many of her kids are club record holder swimmers. Outside of the pool, Nickie likes to garden, hike, lounge in her pool, watch movies and take her dog for walks. Coach Nickie believes that swimming is a great sport where you will make life long friends and learn invaluable time management skills. Achieving comes from believing in yourself. Your dreams will come true based on your efforts at practice!

Coach Durley was raised in Germany and has loved the sport of swimming since she was 7 years old. She was a club swimmer for about 10 years. She swam in local state and national meets throughout her career. Her stroke was Backstroke. She held a club record in the 200 meter backstroke. Kerstin's usual events were the 100 and 200 meter Backstroke, 200 IM and 400 meter Freestyle. Her favorite event was of course the one she was best at, the 200 meter Backstroke. She believes that there is a lot one can learn form swimming that will benefit you all through life. She has 3 daughters that swim for NBSC!

- Russ Bellford
Coach Bellford started coaching dry land for NBSC in September of 2007. Russ was not a swimmer but a multiple sport athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track. He graduated form West Milwaukee High School and went on to play five seasons of football for the University of Wisconsin. He was the starting defensive back during his last two years on the team that went to bowl games. He was an Academic All Big Ten in '83 and '84. Since then he has been an avid runner, cross-training with swim. He does lots of strength training and distance running (5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons and marathons). He has his Wisconsin Track and Field Coaches Association Certification. His coaching experiences come from many seasons of high school football, youth basketball, youth baseball and track and field. Coach Bellford is really interested in finding the most time effective manner in which dry land training can help the athletes improve their performance and minimize their chance of injury!
