The New Berlin Swim Club's goal is to offer a consistently high quality youth swimming program, while keeping our costs to our members as reasonable as possible. We feel that the club offers a high level of coaching experience, ample pool time and space, and a positive challenging environment for our swimmers. Currently, our club has one of the lowest fee structures, for a program of this caliber, in the area. All of our training groups pay less than $1.75 per hour to swim. In order to keep our fees reasonable, we provide SCRIP and other Fundraising opportunities.
Required Participation
One of the largest funding sources for just about every swim club is revenue from meets. Each meet has a host team, and the pool deck is typically full of the parents of the kids from that hosting club. These parents are volunteers, and without them there could be no meet. From timers to food preparation to awards tables and runners - all of these people are parents.
NBSC hosts several meets during each year, and we require at least one parent to volunteer for each meet, even those meets where your child may not be swimming. In order to encourage participation, the club collects a $40 meet participation fee which is returned to you when you volunteer. In the event we are low on volunteers, we have to hire paid assistance. The funding for this hired help comes directly from the meet participation fees from families that did not volunteer. Hosting swim meets is an important activity that affords our members opportunities to compete, socialize and learn more about the sport of swimming hands on. It is also an important revenue source for the club. Hosting a meet can be a fun and rewarding experience if we have enough people involved.
